History
1963
Chung Mei Metal & Plastic Factory Limited was established for the manufacturing of battery-operated flashlights for the US market. Completion of the Chung Mei manufacturing base was a four-storey factory building in Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
1970
Chung Mei started exporting to the UK and Europe.
1986
Chung Mei set up its first manufacturing base in Shenzhen, China by leasing some premises in “Dongguan, Humen”.
1986

1989
Chung Mei Metal Plastic Factory Limited was renamed Chung Mei Industries Limited. Establishment of Chung Mei International Holdings Limited (BVI) as a holding company. Chung Mei Properties Limited was formally set up with the completion of Chung Mei Centre.
1990
Chung Mei ventured into manufacturing of electric appliances, in the kitchen electrics and heating product categories.
1992
Secured its own site in Dongguan for building its own manufacturing center in China. Established Dongguan Mei Qun Electric Appliances Co. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary (‘WOFE’) of Chung Mei Industries Limited.
1994
Chung Mei China manufacturing facility was completed. First production started in early 1994.
1997
Chung Mei became the first manufacturer in Asia to manufacture 3kw (Quick Boil) electric kettles and “thin film” kettles.
1998
Chung Mei received ISO 9001: 2000 Certification. Formed its own Life test and Lab facilities.
1999
With the success of the company’s heating product line, Chung Mei ventured into other air treatment products - humidifiers, air cleaners and specialized fans.
1999
Chung Mei became one of the biggest manufacturers of electric kettles in Asia, manufacturing for major brands like Philips, Kenwood, Sunbeam, Black & Decker, etc. In addition, it became one of the largest customers of Strix Control of the UK.
2016-2017
Chung Mei partnered with various injection molding, assembly and manufacturing companies in China. Chung Mei focused more of its resources in Engineering Development.
2018-2021
Chung Mei became more involved in the design, development and research of products with its customers and developed more unique products like cold brew coffee makers, soda fountain machines, auto drive wheel-chairs, etc. Such products involve more IP which Chung Mei works and shares together with its customers.
2002 - 2004
Chung Mei went into joint venture with DemirDorkum, a subsidiary of KOC, the largest industrial company in Turkey, setting up “Demirdorkum - Chung Mei Industries Ltd”. It manufactured water heaters in China. This is the first Turkish manufacturing joint venture in China.
2007
Demirdorkum sold its water heating business to Valliant of Germany.
2007
Chung Mei went into joint venture with Essegielle of Italy manufacturing espresso machines in China. Essegielle was subsequently acquired by N&W Global Vending SpA which became Chung Mei’s partner.
2012
Chung Mei bought back the outstanding shares of Demirdorkum - Chung Mei Industries Ltd from Vaillant. Demirdorkum-Chung Mei Industries Ltd. became a wholly owned subsidiary of Chung Mei.
2014
Chung Mei restructured the espresso machine manufacturing joint venture with N&W Global Vending SpA and Chung Mei became a designated supplier partner of N&W.
2015
Chung Mei continued to automate its production operation.
2022-
We have also recently renovated our factory in Dongguan, China, which has a brand new feel.
